Plympton & Gilberts Cove Fire Department Spring Bottle Drive
New this spring! Do you have bottles, cans and other deposit-charged items that can be returned? Instead of hauling them into town, bring them by our fire department!
It's the perfect way to get some spring cleaning done while also helping your community's emergency services. Please have them bagged if possible - and bonus points if you count them for us!

Juniors on Fire Youth Summer Camp
Give your Tweens & Teens an opportunity to become a Junior Firefighter! We're recruiting 10 students (ages 11-15) to see how volunteer firefighters use tools and teamwork to serve our community.
Campers will enjoy fun with others their age while playing immersive games, learning new skills, riding in a fire truck and so much more.
When: Monday July 9 - Friday July 13, 2025
Where: Plympton & Gilbert’s Cove FD (7208 Highway 101, Plympton, NS)
Cost: $140/camper

About your Camp Counselor:
Kaitlin has been certified in First Aid, CPR, & AED training since she was 13 years old. Along with her Lifeguarding at the age of 16.
She also holds certifications for Leadership in Training (1998), Opioid Poisoning Response (2024) and WHMIS (2024).
Kaitlin enjoys working with children of all ages. She joined our department in October 2023 and has consistently furthered her skills since then to better serve our community.

Bear River Cherry Carnival
The annual Bear River Cherry Carnival is held each year in July and is sponsored by the Bear River Fire Department. It is the major annual fundraiser for the fire department.
